A road running south from the St John's area towards Bursledon and the Hamble Valley. Bursledon Road connects Hedge End to the communities along the River Hamble and provides an alternative route to the M27. The road passes through a mix of residential areas, with housing from different periods along its length. The southern end of the road leads towards Old Bursledon and the river, where the landscape opens out and the character becomes more rural. The road is well used by commuters and residents travelling between Hedge End and the Hamble area.
